Lanai Trip - September 2010

Looking for horses.

The Lodge at Koele looked so different that the Manele Bay Hotel.
My sweetheart! Happy 7 years to us!

Savannah loved her robe.

One of our goals while we are in Hawaii is to visit every island in the chain. Over Labor Day weekend, we visited the island of Lanai. Lanai is a very different island. There is only one main city, Lanai City; 2 hotels and only about 3,000 residents. During whale season, the whales in the ocean outnumber the total people who live on the island. It took us very little time to adjust to the pace of the island and our accommodations at the Four Seasons. Ahhhh.....Lanai!
We stayed at Manele Bay, the Four Seasons by the Ocean.

Savannah's cheesiest smile.

The other hotel is more in the 'upcountry'. This is the Lodge at Kohele. It had such a different feel than the other hotel. I didn't feel or look like anyplace in Hawaii.

The gardens around the Lodge at Kohele were amazing!

Rubbing budda. Maybe I shouldn't have done that. It appears he is very fertile!

One of the orchids from the greenhouse.

Savannah takes after me with her love for flowers, but in this photo she is only concerned with the gravel.
Koi Pond.
Check out that big 32 week pregnant belly sneaking into the photo.

The air was so clear and fresh.

Back down at Manele Bay. Dave and Savannah looking at fish in the tidepools.
We took a short hike to Sweet Heart Rock.
Beautiful secluded beach.

Sweet Heat Rock.

My Sweethearts!

Hiking while pregnant does not bother me...
not while enjoying views like these!
Our hotel in the distance.

The pool at 8:00am. Thanks to vacationing with a 2 year old, there is no sleeping in.
Savannah likes riding on Daddy's shoulders.

Eating out.
The view from our table.

Creating a masterpiece.
Picking up fallen plumeria flowers. The air at our hotel smelled sweet from all the flowers in the gardens.

Savannah enjoying some of my virgin Pina Coloda.

I didn't want to miss out on fruity beverages just because I'm pregnant.
We all had our own robe to wear at the hotel. There was even a kiddie robe for Savannah. We were welcomed the room with a stuffed animal turtle for Savannah too!
The view never gets old.

Lounging poolside.
"Yes, I would like an Evian mist."

Manele Bay
The path down to the hotel's beach.

Relaxing.
So relaxing.

Surf's up!

One flower in each hand.

Daddy's girl.

I could get used to this!

Some of the gardens at our hotel.

Getting off the plane when we arrived.

This is the terminal when you walk off the plane. Just one building.

Getting off the plane. Only prop planes get you on and off the island.
